DescriptionMain Square and Town Hall, Hawkshead - geograph.org.uk - 169301.jpg
English: Main Square and Town Hall, Hawkshead. Hawkshead Town Hall is straight ahead. This was built in 1790 as a market house, with butchers' shops under open arches on the ground floor and other shops above. It was restored and enlarged in 1887 to commemorate Q.Victoria's golden jubilee; the central three windows are of the original building. The lower building to the left is Town Hall Cottage.
