"Na Ilha de Fernando de Noronha não existe serpente, mas por toda parte, e particularmente no pé das falésias da Praia do Sancho e da Baía dos Porcos, encontra-se essas simpáticas lagartixas, que são endêmicas a Noronha. Curiosíssimas e aparentemente sempre famintas, eles se metem em qualquer lugar em busca de comida. Gostam particularmente de uma mochila aberta. Uma vez pegamos uma carona em um bugre (valeu, Marcelo) e, ao abrir o porta-luvas, apareceu a cabecinha de uma mabuia! Flagrei esta tomando sol perto da <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/jimsk/30986680/">Praia do Leão</a>.

There are no snakes on Fernando de Noronha but everywhere on the island, and in particular at the foot of the cliffs surrounding Sancho Beach and the Bay of Pigs, you find these cute lizards, which are exclusive to the island. Very curious and apparently always hungry, they explore everywhere looking for food and are particularly fond of half-open rucksacks. Once we hitched a lift in a buggy and, on opening the glove compartment, out popped the head of one of these guys. This one was basking near <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/jimsk/30986680/">Praia do Leão</a> (Lion Beach)"
