Description
English: The German national anthem „Deutschlandlied“ was written in 1841, giving four water bodies as the German borders: "Von der Maas bis an die Memel, von der Etsch bis an den Belt". This map outlines them as well as the border of the German Confederation and its reletionship to the borders of the German language area of that time.
