English: Cook Strait rail ferry MV Aratika after 1976 modifications to add passenger carrying capacity, as well as an upper vehicle deck. She served the Cook Strait route between 1974 and 1999 as what is now the Interislander line and was eventually sold to MBRS Lines in the Philippines where she operated as Virgin Mary and was scrapped at Alang in 2004.
She is shown here in a version of New Zealand Rail livery, which she wore until the early 1980s
