English: A LARGE COMPLEX OF HOUSES BUILT AS TEMPORARY HOUSING DURING WORLD WAR II FOR WORKERS AT PERMOLD, AN ALUMINUM-CASTINGS PLANT ON THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF W. LIBERTY AND STATE STREETS. AFTER WORLD WAR II, THE APARTMENTS WERE USED TO HOUSE VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES, UP THROUGH 1953. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, THE MEDFAIR APARTMENTS WERE TURNED OVER TO THE MEDINA COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY AND SERVED AS NON-PROFIT, LOW-INCOME HOUSING THROUGH THE LATE 1970S. |
