English: This is an image of the nucleus of M31 (Andromeda Galaxy) taken with Hubble. It shows the three features P1, P2 and P3. While P1 and P2 are red, P3 is blue and is embedded within P2. P3 is believed to be the central star cluster containing UV-bright A-type stars and containing the supermassive black hole M31*. This black hole is the second closest SMBH to the solar system after Sagittarius A* in the Milky Way.
This is the labelled version.
