English: The map shows the area near Lynchburg, Virginia, in the United States of America. This is the approximate route taken by the 2nd West Virginia Cavalry as part of a larger Union army force led by General David Hunter during June 1864. Lynchburg was the Union force's objective, and the maneuver became known as "Hunter's Raid".
