DescriptionLord Roberts Monument at Kelvingrove Park, Glasgow.jpg
The most famous statue in Kelvingrove Park, Glasgow, has been described as "the finest equestrian statue of modern times". Executed by Henry Poole, this structure is an exact duplicate of Harry Bates equestrian masterpiece which originally stood in the Maidan in Calcutta then moved in 1969 to Robert Park, Artillery Centre, Nasik near Mumbai. This bronze shows Lord Frederick Sleigh Roberts VC on his favourite Arab charger 'Volonel'.
