| Description |
English: Looking southeast at the west face of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., in the United States. The road visible in the foreground is the traffic circle around the memorial. The memorial originally was designed to be approached from either the east or west, but design changes led architect Henry Bacon to seal off the west side. It still features the memorial's iconic columns, however. The landscaping was designed by James Leal Greenleaf. |
