Text from the British Museum information board:
'Silver-gilt spoons with animals -
Four long-handled silver spoons with gilded decoration in the bowl. A number of different animals are depicted. Two show dolphins and another a marine griffin, part fish, lion and eagle. Marine scenes are a common design feature of a number of pieces in the Hoxne hoard. The last depicts a bird with a long neck and a long, thick tail, which can probably be identified as a peacock.
