Summary

Description
English: "The interior of an inn". In illustration in H.E.M. James book. It is followed by a couple of pages where he described an inn in the Hunjiang River valley east of Tonghua. in an area that was very much a "frontier" of Chinese settlement. Note a long kang (bed-stove) along the wall, shared by the guests.
