DescriptionLondon Tilbury Union Castle's 'Bloemfontein Castle' geograph-3080502-by-Ben-Brooksbank.jpg
English: 18,400 GRT Union-Castle liner MV Bloemfontein Castle returning to London from her maiden voyage from Capetown via Suez.
Viewed downstream from a pleasure boat returning from Southend, the location being uncertain but is probably east of Tilbury. The ship was the first one-class ship of the Union Castle line. She was completed in March 1950, sold and renamed in 1959 and scrapped in 1988.
