Summary

Description
English: Fragmentary limestone ostrakon, inscribed in hieratic with two poems composed by scribe Amennakht. This side is a poem prising his local city, Thebes: "the bread here is finest than goose-fat doughnut, her water is sweeter than honey". Deir-el Madina, 20th Dynasty. Ashmolean Museum, given by Alan Gardiner, HO 25.
