Nederlands: Het hertogdom Limburg werd vaak in één adem met de drie Landen van Overmaas genoemd, want zij vormden samen een van de 17 provinciën der Nederlanden. In de officiële stukken worden zij echter steevast "Limburg en de Landen van Overmaas" genoemd. Overmaas of Overmaze bestond uit de landjes ’s Hertogenrade, Valkenburg en Dalhem.
English: The Duchy of Limburg was often mentioned in the same breath as the three Lands beyond the Meuse, because together they formed one of the 17 provinces of the Netherlands. In the official documents however they are invariably referred to as Limburg and the "Landen van Overmaas". These consisted of the small countries of Herzogenrath, Valkenburg and Dalhem.
Deutsch: Das Herzogtum Limburg wurde oft in einem Atemzug mit den drei Ländchen jenseits der Maas genannt, da sie zusammen eine der 17 Provinzen der Niederlande bildeten. In den offiziellen Dokumenten werden sie aber immer als Limburg und die Landen van Overmaas (Lande von Übermaas) bezeichnet. Overmaas bestand aus den Ländchen Herzogenrath, Valkenburg und Dalhem.
Français : Le duché de Limbourg a souvent été mentionné du même souffle que les trois pays d’Outre-Meuse, car ensemble, ils formaient l’une des 17 provinces des Pays-Bas. Mais dans les documents officiels, ils sont toujours appelés « Limbourg et les pays d’Outre-Meuse » ou Landen van Overmaas. Il s’agissait des trois seigneuries de Herzogenrath, Valkenburg et Dalhem. |
