SPECIAL CAUTION Between HALF-AN-HOUR AFTER SUNSET and HALF-AN-HOUR BEFORE SUNRISE, NO LIGHT OF ANY DESCRIPTION shall be visible from the outside of any house, shop, premises, hut, tent, or building of any description. Any person striking matches, using hand or flash lamps, torches, automatic lighters, etc., in any public street or place is liable to be arrested. Hotel Keepers, Lodging House Proprietors, etc., are requested to place this notice in a prominent position so that it may be seen by Visitors and Non-residents. E. F. WINCH, Chief Constable. Guildhall, Norwich, 4th January, 1917.

The artwork was created by a commissioned military artist during their active service duties in the First World War.
