Description
English: Infructescence of the Pheasant Berry - Leycesteria formosa Wall. : dark purple, edible berries in their pendent strings of deep pink bracts, contrasting with fresh green foliage. Fruit borne by a large, mature specimen of this soft-wooded shrub which, in the UK sometimes self-seeds to become naturalised along watercourses and upon old walls. Plant growing near a farm in the northernmost English county of Northumberland.
