Summary
[edit]Description |
Memorial plaque on one of the apartment houses (Fasanenstrasse, 32) in Berlin where Lev Nussimbaum lived between 1928-1930. Police records indicate that Lev Nussimbaum had lived at six different locations in Berlin before he left for Vienna in 1933. The plaque was created around 2007 by those who propagate Essad Bey's literary activity. Recent in-depth research shows that Essad Bey (Lev Nussimbaum) was not the core author of "Ali and Nino," which calls into question the veracity of equating him with Kurban Said as suggested on the plaque. Essad Bey's role was often more as literary broker, sensationalizing the story line and publishing works under his famous name - the "Business of Literature" as the Germans called it. In-depth research shows Yusif Vazir Chamanzaminli to have been the core author of "Ali and Nino". |
