DescriptionLesbury railway station (site), Northumberland (geograph 5912695).jpg
English: Lesbury railway station (site), Northumberland Opened in 1847 by the Newcastle & Berwick Railway, later part of the North Eastern Railway, this was the closest station to the principal town of Alnwick on the opening of the railway, and a horse drawn omnibus was provided for connections. It was however made redundant by a branch line from Alnmouth to Alnwick which opened in 1850, at which point this station closed.
View south towards Alnmouth and Newcastle. No trace of the platforms remain but the former station building was still extant as a private residence when this image was taken.
