English: Leonardo Chiariglione has been at the forefront of a number of initiatives that have helped shape media technology and business as we know them today. He founded the MPEG and chairs and the Digital Media Project of which he is the president. This group, with a membership of over 300 experts, representing 20 countries and various industries having a stake in digital audio and video, produced the MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and mp3 standards that have facilitated the digital audio-visual revolution. Italiano: Leonardo Chiariglione è stato in prima linea in molte iniziative che hanno contribuito a plasmare la tecnologia dei media digitali così come li conosciamo oggi. Ha fondato il Gruppo MPEG, a cui aderiscono 300 esperti, in rappresentanza di 20 paesi da tutto il mondo provenienti da diversi settori dell’audio e video digitali, ha prodotto il formato standard MPEG-1, MPEG-2 e l'mp3, che hanno facilitato la rivoluzione digitale audio-video degli ultimi decenni. |
