DescriptionLenan Head Fort - geograph.org.uk - 882388.jpg
English: Lenan Head Fort One of a number of defensive forts built by the British to defend the deep-water anchorages of Loch Swilly. The image shows two of the three gun positions, all of which are linked by extensive underground magazines and passages in remarkably good condition. The above-ground structures are largely ruinous although the best-preserved building is, surprisingly, the squash court.
