Use in article (WP:NFCC#7) | Lekeaka Oliver |
Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) | The photo will show Lekeaka Oliver as the self-proclaimed Paramount Ruler or "King" of Lebialem, a region in Cameroon. |
Not replaceable with free media because (WP:NFCC#1) |
No free images of Oliver as self-proclaimed "king" exist; as he was killed in 2022, more cannot be made. Oliver was a controversial Ambazonian rebel leader in the Anglophone Crisis. In 2019, he drove out the traditional rulers in the area where his militia operated, and declared himself the local monarch. This act was widely reported and discussed in Cameroonian and international media, and caused outrage both among Cameroonian loyalists as well as other rebels. It is difficult to convey his self-presentation as monarch without showing how he actually enthroned himself and even adopted an outfit akin to the traditional rulers of Lebialem. |
Minimal use (WP:NFCC#3) | Used in one article only. |
Respect for commercial opportunities (WP:NFCC#2) |
The photo was released on social media as part of Oliver's propaganda efforts, and there is no indication that he or his followers intended to commercialize. The photo is also of low resolution, and has been used by several Cameroonian newspapers discussing the Anglophone Crisis. |
