Description
Français : Un diablotin souffle un conseil diabolique à l'oreille du duc d'Épernon, doté lui-même de pattes démoniaques. Au moyen d'un soufflet, le mignon attise à son tour la fureur infernale du roi Henri III contre les catholiques poussés devant lui par des gardes : le cardinal Charles de Bourbon, l'archevêque de Lyon Pierre de Saint-Priest d'Épinac, et Charles, le jeune fils du duc Henri de Guise. Les corps décapités du duc Henri de Guise et du cardinal Louis de Guise gisent au pied du monarque tandis que Nicolas de Grimonville, segneur de Larchant et capitaine des gardes du roi, brandit leurs têtes coupées. À l'arrière-plan se dresse le château de Blois, théâtre de l'assassinat des deux frères Guise.
