La salle du canot de l'Empereur Napoléon Ier construit en 1810 L'embarcation a rejoint le musée en 1945.

Le Canot impérial de Napoléon Ier est la seule embarcation de ce type que la France a su conserver dans son intégrité. Sa construction a été décidée dans le plus grand secret au printemps 1810, lorsque l'Empereur proposa de se rendre à Anvers pour visiter l’arsenal, dont il avait ordonné la création quelques années plus tôt. L’ingénieur Guillemard fournit les plans du canot, tandis que le maître Théau, originaire de Granville, en supervise la construction. Les éléments décoratifs sont confiées au sculpteur anversois Van Petersen. En 21 jours seulement l’embarcation est prête. Elle mesure plus de 18 mètres de long...
