Summary

Description
English: Le Mur Vegetal - Thrive Vertical Garden

Update 2009.11.19: Le Mur Vegetal - 1+ yo

Thrive Melbourne Central has thrived into an urban inner-city precinct presenting a style-laden destination for shopping, eating & entertainment. There are over 3OO stores to explore in a unique and modern architectural space, reflecting the diversity and evolution of the Melbourne CBD.

Working in conjunction with the National Design Centre and in support of the Melbourne International Design Festival, the area next to the heritage listed Shot Tower will be transformed into a rich man-made vertical garden. Pioneered by internationally renowned French artist and botanist Patrick Blanc, le mur vegetal is an ecological art form which has globally reinvented urban landscapes into fascinating displays of vegetation.

By installing this visually stimulating piece, Melbourne Central continues to cement their position as a unique retail destination. The Vertical Garden provides a extraordinary forum for the community to engage with ideas and innovations which promote the preservation of natural beauty in a built and urbanised environment.
