Summary

Description
English: Lady Orchid (Orchis purpurea) Seen here at Hartslock, a Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust downland nature reserve above Goring at the point where the Chilterns meet the River Thames. It is one of two sites for this plant in south Oxfordshire, all remaining sites in the country now being in Kent. The name is derived from the appearance of a lady with a bonnet, arms and long, broad skirt.
