Description
Forma parte de un conjunto de cuatro bocetos preparatorios para cartones de tapices. Son parte de la decoración de seis sobrepuertas de la Pieza de Conversación del cuarto del rey Carlos III en el Palacio Real de Madrid. Basados en las alegorías que Corrado Giaquinto pintó para una sala análoga del Palacio de Aranjuez, las figuras van acompañadas de sus complejos símbolos alusivos al Apocalipsis. La Profecía, con la espada en la mano derecha y la trompeta en la izquierda, el sol tras las nubes y una paloma sobre su cabeza; dos amorcillos llevan una tablilla con la palabra profecía en latín, que se cumplirá con el Triunfo del Cordero Místico señalado por la Sabiduría.
