Description
Tunisian pavilion at the 1900 Paris World Fair. The Tunisian sections presented architectural reproductions of many monuments, such as the Mosqs of Karouan and of Kef, the Gafsa Casbah, and the Sfax Minaret. Tunisia became a French protectorate in 1881 and gained its independence in 1957.
