Summary

Description
English: Naval Station Subic Bay, Republic of the Philippines, 20 June 1991. Ships present include the Philippines tank landing ship RPS Samar Del Norte (LT-510), (ex-Nansemond County (LST-1064)), forward of Samar Del Norte is the Philippines auxiliary fleet flagship RPS Andres Bonifacio (PS-7), (ex-Chincoteague (AVP-24)). Opposite Andres Bonifacto is the mast of a US Navy Perry class guided missile frigate. Beyond that is the nuclear-powered guided missile cruiser Long Beach (CGN-9). When this photo was taken the Naval Base was still recovering from the damage done by the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in March 1991. DNSN9402465 photo by PH3 Terry S Johnson.
