DescriptionLMS 'Patriot' 4-6-0 entering Manchester Victoria railway station 2093405 f54a59c7.jpg
English: The first LMS 'Patriot' 4-6-0 entering Manchester Victoria.
LMS Fowler Class 6P 4-6-0 No. 45500 'Patriot' westbound entering Manchester Victoria with empty stock. The train is passing Victoria East Box, coming round the Cheetham Hill curve probably from Red Bank Carriage Sidings, while a light engine (Class 5 No. 45056) also approaches in parallel. On the right the main lines eastwards begin the steep climb up to Miles Platting. It was an extremely busy Summer Saturday and the signalmen had to allow trains to approach alternately: note all the signals for the eastbound direction are at Danger.
