Summary

Description
English: Samira Ahmed and Kurt Barling introduce 'Breaking the News'

Journalists Samira Ahmed and Kurt Barling helped shape our Breaking the News exhibition.

As masters of their trade, why do they think the news matters? In this short video they discuss the big themes of the exhibition. Why the news must be verified, authentic and tell us, the reader, something we can’t know ourselves.

Why it must enhance our world view, not distort it. Why the quality of our news matters to the quality of society. And why the news must always seek to get at the truth of a story.
