DescriptionKruisherenkerk Maastricht, sacramentstoren, fragment Laatste Avondmaal (LGOG-collectie) 07.jpg
English: Fragment of a tabernacle tower, originally in the Croziers Church (Kruisherenkerk) in Maastricht, the Netherlands, now part of the LGOG collection in Bonnefantenmuseum (external depot). The monumental tabernacle was about 10 m high and consisted of several layers of sculptures. The relief of the Last Supper, of which six pieces remain, was probably the largest (66 x 79 cms). The tower must have been destroyed at some point, perhaps after the dissolution of the monastery in 1796 (during the French occupation). Some fragments were burried underneath the church floor where they were discovered in 1914. The tabernacle tower was ordered in 1561 by the Maastricht Croziers (or Crutched Friars) from the Liège sculptor Guillaume de Jockeu.
