English: The sign says drive on left in English, French, German and Swedish (Körtill vänster). Swedish because Harwich has a ferry service to Esbjerg. Clacton Road, Horsley Cross just north of the Wix By-pass (A120). If a foreign visitor having landed at Harwich is at this point they will have just made their first right turn after driving "straight" for 12 km. And possibly there was a serious accident here caused by someone driving on the wrong side. Of course the sign should be on the other side of the road! Essex is not always this helpful - if the foreign visitor continues along this road, they may land up in the Crown Hotel, Manningtree. There, if they go to the toilet, they will have to work out for themselves which of "Gulls" or "Buoys" is appropriate for their sex. The buildings on the right are part of the main treatment works of Tendring Hundred Water Services Ltd - sadly another reference to Tendring Hundred is gone because the company is now called Veolia Water East.
