English: The "Korea Review" was published from 1919-1922 by Philip Jaisohn (서재필) with the assistance of Henry Chung (정한경) and the Korean Students League of America. The monthly, published in Philadelphia, PA, is entirely in English and was created to inform American citizens about the plight of Korea during Japan's colonization thereof (1910-1945). Philip Jaisohn published the first newspaper entirely in Korean (Hangul/한글), "The Independent" (독립신문) from 1896-1899, after returning to Korea to assist its march towards independence following the first Sino-Japanese War (1894-1895).
