Afrikaans: Koos du Plessis (geb. Rustenburg, 10 Mei 1945) was 'n Suid-Afrikaanse musikant wat toonaangewend was in die Afrikaanse Musiek-en-Liriek beweging van die 1970's en -80's. Hoewel hy kommersieel nie baie suksesvol was as uitvoerende kunstenaar nie, het die albums wat hy in sy leeftyd uitgereik het 'n nuwe rigting in Afrikaanse musiek aangedui en word dit vandag as moontlik die mees invloedrykes in die taal se musiekgeskiedenis beskou. Tientalle verwerkings van sy komposisies is sedertdien deur verskeie ander Afrikaanse kunstenaars opgeneem en 'n hele paar het huldeblyk-albums aan Du Plessis opgeneem.
English: Jacobus (Koos) Johannes du Plessis (May 10, 1945 - January 15, 1984) was a prominent South African singer-songwriter. Although he received critical acclaim for much of his work, he became best known for the runaway success of a rendition of his song Kinders van die Wind (Children of the Wind) by Laurika Rauch.
