English: Former Prime Minister Fumnimaro Konoe (1889–1945) meets the press at Kazoku Kaikan (Peerage Club House) after having accepted his second imperial order to form a new government, 17 July 1940. Konoe was one of the most popular prime ministers among the press and the general public in the pre-war Japan.
