  • Green line – 1956 claim line of China
  • Dark grey line – 1960 claim line of China (often coincides with the Orange line)
  • Blue line - Chinese advance in 1959
  • Purple line - Chinese position before the 1962 war ("Line of separation")
  • Orange line - Chinese position at the end of the 1962 war ("Ceasefire line")
  • Dotted orange lines - 20 km separation from the ceasefire line (Chinese proposal for truce)
