Headline	Komjádi Béla sportvezetõ, vízilabdázó, edzõ, a magyar vízilabdasport úttörõje. Az MTK együttesében kezdett el elõbb 1910-ben úszni, majd 1914-tõl vízilabdázni, késõbb a III. kerületi TVE játékosa lett. Az elsõ világháború során súlyosan megsérült, a Magyar Általános Kõszénbányánál betöltött tisztviselõi állásából nyugdíjazták, az aktív sportolást befejezte. Csapataiban hátvédként szerepelt, játékosként csendes csapatjátékosnak és jó taktikusnak számított. Mivel a háborús sérülés miatt gyermeke nem születhetett, életét kezdetben az úszásnak, késõbb a vízilabdának szentelte. A III. kerületi TVE csapatának vízilabdaedzõje lett, felépített egy új, erõs csapatot, mely fel tudta venni a versenyt az addig verhetetlennek tartott Ferencvárosi TC-vel. 1924-ben rövid ideig, majd 1926-tól újra a magyar vízilabda-válogatott szövetségi kapitányává nevezték ki. A válogatottal háromszor nyert Európa-bajnokságot (1926, 1927 és 1931), valamint több olimpián szerepelt. Az 1932-es Los Angeles-i olimpián gyõzelemre vezette a válogatottat. A felkészülés során több bemutató mérkõzést tartottak, hogy fedezni tudják a kiutazás magas költségeit. Edzõként nagy hangsúlyt fektetett az utánpótlás-nevelésre, az õ felfedezettje volt többek között Keserû Alajos, Keserû Ferenc és Homonnai Márton késõbbi olimpiai bajnokok. A modern vízilabdasport megalkotója, több edzéstechnikai újítás bevezetõje (pl. légstopp, légpassz, ill. medencén kívüli, tornatermi edzés). Stílusa miatt megkapta játékosaitól a Komi bácsi becenevet. 1920-ban a Magyar Úszó Szövetség titkára, majd 1921-ben fõtitkára lett, mely tisztséget 1926-ig, szövetségi edzõi kinevezéséig viselt. Emellett a játékvezetõi keretnek is tagja volt. 1930-ban a szövetség ügyvezetõ alelnökévé választották. Pályafutása során több lapnak is írt cikkeket, amelyekben népszerûsítette a sportot. 1933-ban, 41. születésnapja elõtt pár nappal agyvérzés következtében hunyt el. Róla nevezték el a korábbi Császár-uszodát, ill. több utca és egy utánpótlás-emléktorna is viseli a nevét. (Forrás: Wikipédia)
