English: Knottingley railway station, Yorkshire Opened in 1848 on the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway's line from Wakefield to Goole, this once-grand station had four platforms with an overall roof. Since the 1960s it has been a much simpler affair.
View west towards Pontefract and Wakefield. The former Doncaster-bound platforms had been further to the left. In the 12 years since SE4923 : Knottingley railway station, Yorkshire, 2008 was taken looking in the opposite direction, the platforms appear to have been extended slightly and new waiting shelters provided.
