Kossuth-díjas (1953) nyelvész, nyelvtörténész, szlavista, a Magyar Tudományos Akadémia levelező (1939), majd rendes (1947) tagja. Dr. Kniezsa István nyelvész, az MTA rendes tagja, az ELTE Szláv Filológiai Tanszék tanszékvezető egyetemi tanára, akit Kossuth-díjjal ismertek el a nemzeti ünnep alkalmából rendezett díjátadó ünnepségen. |
