Giraffa camelopardalis, Knie's Kinderzoo in Rapperswil (Switzerland) 13. März 2011 15:30 Uhr: Mara (16 Jahre) gebar nach rund 16 Monaten Tragzeit ihr fünftes Jungtier (männlich). 14. März 2011 13:30 Uhr: Luana (16 Jahre) gebar ihr fünftes Jungtier (weiblich). Der Kinderzirkus durfte damit die 15. Geburt einer vom Aussterben bedrohten Giraffen-Unterart feiern und auf diesem Weg einen wertvollen Beitrag zur Erhaltung der Rothschild-Giraffen leisten. Die Jungtiere werden Namen mit den Anfangsbuchstaben ‹J› erhalten. |
