English: Kirkwall Quay A car being loaded onto the MV Syllingar. The service operated by Viking Island Ferries only operated for the one season. It was capable of carrying 300 passengers and 14 cars, but was not a RORO so cars had to be lifted into the hold. It sailed from Kirkwall to Scalloway via Westray.
The MV Syllingar was previously the Scillonian II and a full history of the ship can be found at http://freepages.family.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~treevecwll/scilliir.htm
