Description from Original Source: 台灣總督府的建築完成於1911-1915,1916年六月正式啟用,是日本殖民政府最高權威的象徵,也代表了現代科技的成就。此景正面描寫總督府一柱擎天的迫人氣勢,不過,畫家巧妙地在近景裁出寬敞的路面與高大茂密的樹林,豐富了畫面的視野與層次,使得此突兀的建築增加幽雅的氣氛。
