English: King of hearts in the Belgian pattern, the second most commonly produced pattern of playing cards worldwide. Design dates from the mid-19th century as a minor alteration of the Paris pattern for export purposes. This pattern is also found in North Africa, the Middle East, the Balkans, Genoa, and in former French colonies.
