Summary
| Description |
Mercy Hospital, on the left, once had a grassy front lawn that extended all the way from the hospital on the left, fronting on Michigan Avenue, 3 blocks east to King Drive. When they ran into financial difficulty several years ago, they sold that land to a private developer, who built the red-brick low-rises in the center of the picture. The gray building to the left of the low-rises used to belong to Mercy, and was white concrete just like the larger building. McCormick Place, and the Hyatt McCormick, is in the distance at the right. |
