English: Kildonan Mill. This restored mill was built soon after the 1745 uprising by the chief of Clanranald in an attempt to introduce a cash economy onto Eigg in order to control the islanders. On the chief's orders all quern stones on the island were destroyed and all oats had to be ground at the mill.
