English: The Star opened in July l883, described as having "22 rooms, an upper floor with l2 comfortable single and double rooms, a good bathroom and a cosy drawing room. The passages were wide and lofty and a balcony ran round the upper storey. The ground floor had four private sitting rooms, a billiard room, dining room, bar and kitchen. The dining room could seat 40 comfortably and three of the sitting rooms had a fireplace." At some stage stables were added, for in l887 it was reported they caught fire.
