Summary

Description
English: Historic Kilauea Point Lighthouse was built in 1913 on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. The beautiful Fresnel lens, manufactured in Paris, France, is 1 of only 7 remaining in US lighthouses today. The lighthouse was manned until 1974 when it was fully automated. It was added to the National Registry of Historic Places on October 18, 1979. On the 100th anniversary, in 2013, the name was changed to Daniel K Inouye Kilauea Point Lighthouse in honor of the late senator.
