Gedenkstein für den Komponisten Sixt Bachmann

"Josef Sigismund Bachmann wurde 1754 hier in Kettershausen als Sohn des Dorflehrers geboren. Schon im frühen Kindesalter war sein großes musikalisches Talent erkennbar. Höhepunkt dieser ntwicklung war seine Begegnung mit dem fast gleichaltrigen Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Mit diesem musikalischen Wettstreit ist er in die große Musikgeschichte eingegnagen. Später studierte er Theologie und trat als Pater Sixtus in das Prämonstratenserkloster Obermarchtal in Oberschwaben ein. Nach dem Verbot der geistlichen Orden 1893 übernahm er die kleine Pfarrei Reutlingendorf auf der schwäbischen Alb und verstarb dort 1825. Mit seinem musikalischen Nachlaß zählt Bachmann zu den großen schwäbischen Klosterkomponisten."
