In the center of the discovery site of Keszthely-Fenékpuszta at the southwestern end of Lake Balaton is the late Roman fortress Fenékpuszta. The rectangular layout with round side and corner towers was erected during the 4th century in the territory of the Roman province Pannonia I and belongs to the circle of so-called inner fortresses. Since the late 19th century, over 1000 burials extra and intra muros as well as 24 stone structures within the fortress have been examined. Im Zentrum des Fundplatzes von Keszthely-Fenékpuszta am südwestlichen Ende des Plattensees liegt die spätrömische Befestigung Fenékpuszta. Die rechteckige Anlage mit runden Seiten- und Ecktürmen wurde während des 4. Jahrhunderts auf dem Gebiet der römischen Provinz Pannonia I errichtet und gehört zum Kreis der sogenannten Innenbefestigungen. Seit Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts wurden über 1000 Bestattungen extra und intra muros sowie 24 Steinbauten innerhalb der Festung erfasst.
