Καθε 4-5 χρονια, οταν οι μεγαλες ποσοτητες νερού συσσωρευτηκαν η μπλοκαριστηκαν, υπηρχε κατακρατηση νερού. Οταν η ποσοτητα του νερού, ηταν πολυ μεγαλη, διμιουργηθηκαν λιμνες. English: One of 7 Ponors of the southern part of the very large Tripoli-Plateau (polje). The plateau has no natural water outlet, which is a relatively frequent phenomenon in the Karstbasins of Arcadia (island of the Peloponnese in Greece). When precipitation of winters is exceptionally rich, the polje is flooded, a temporary lake may result even nowadays. In such a case the ponors in this karst depression become vital. Deutsch: Eines der 7 Ponore des südlichen Teils des sehr großen Tripoli-Hochplateaus (Polje). Relativ häufige Erscheinung in Karstbecken Arkadiens (nordöstlicher Peloponnes, Griechenland). In besonders niederschlagsreichen Wintern wurden große Teile des gesamten Poljes früher immer wieder nass, u.U. bildeten sich sogar Seen.
